The new position will appear in the structure of the secretariat of the government.
At Wednesday meeting, June 7, the Cabinet of Ministers plans to approve the resolution on the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy, according to the agenda of the Cabinet of Ministers meeting and the documents, belonging to RBC-Ukraine.
In particular, the structure of the secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers will have the position of the commissioner for gender policy, as well as its machinery. It is planned to increase the number of employees of the secretariat from 643 to 648, consequently, 5 people will manage the gender policy in the government.
The resolution on the government commissioner stipulates that he will be charged with the obligation of ensuring authorities of the Cabinet of Ministers in ensuring equal rights and opportunities of women and men in all spheres of life.
The commissioner’s duties will include: the coordination of efforts of different ministries and public bodies, aimed at ensuring the equal rights of women and men; monitoring regulatory acts of the Cabinet of Ministries for compliance with the principles of gender equality; interaction with civil community on the equality of men and women.
