President Petro Poroshenko signed the law on cancellation of the verification of compliance of transport vehicles with ecological regulations during their import in Ukraine, according to the information of the draft law №5470-д, posted on the official website of the Verkhovna Rada, ET reports.
The law was returned signed by the President of Ukraine on May 21.
According to the changes, in Art. 2 of the Law of Ukraine On Some Issues of Import on Customs Territory of Ukraine and Registration of Transport Vehicles, the words “a pass to the customs territory of Ukraine” are replaced with the words “customs clearance”.
It rules out the necessity to have the certificate of compliance with ecologic standards, which it was necessary to show when importing the foreign car into the country and at state registration.
However, such certificate is any way needs to be presented at the internal customs during the customs clearance of the car.
The law was passed, taking into account the amendment, introduced by Nina Yuzhanina, Head of the Committee for Tax and Customs Policy. This amendment released the emergency ambulance cars, special purpose vehicles and mobile medical clinics, imported to Ukraine as the humanitarian aid, from the necessity to comply with standards.
