President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev had a phone conversation with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirsiyoev, the press office of Acorda reports, kapital.kz informs.
During the conversation, the presidents discussed the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation as well as exchanged views regarding the regional and international agenda.
The presidents noted with pleasure the gradual development of relationships between countries as well as emphasized the importance of taken measures, within the current Year of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan, for deepening a multilateral cooperation.
The conversation happened upon the initiative of the Uzbek party.
It should be noted that Astana and Tashkent intend to increase the goods turnover up to 3 bln dollars. Thus, it was agreed that Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan will continue a joint work on increasing a goods turnover through Uzbek gas supplies to the south of Kazakhstan in the autumn-winter period as well as providing services on the transit of Kazakhstan gas through Uzbekistan territory. The parties also discuss the creation of the International Center of Border Cooperation “Central Asia”.
