Ukrzaliznytsya PJSC plans to write off from 30% to 40% of the fleet of locomotives because of their unfitness, Acting Chairman of the Management Board of Ukrzaliznytsia Evgeni Kravtsov said during the briefing in Kiev on Tuesday, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
"To date, 30-40% of locomotives are from the general fleet - diesel locomotives, electric locomotives, and shunting locomotives - cannot be restored", Kravtsov said.
"Therefore, in accordance with established procedures, after the survey, we will carry out their write-off and disposal, according to the order, established by the Cabinet", he said.
According to Kravtsov, this order is now being tested on the car, which are not subject to restoring. It provides for independent assessment of facilities and sale through the electronic sales system ProZorro.
It should be reminded that on September 11, the first locomotive produced by U.S. company GE Transportation arrived to Chernomorsk port.
