Metro Cash&Carry Ukraine plans to open 15-20 small format stores under TM Metrobaza, CEO of Metro Cash&Carry Ukraine Olivier Langle told, liga.net reports.
“We are concentrating on the development of this format, as the opening of large store is very expensive and take too much time”, he noted.
The first store will be opened next year. The investments into opening of each store will be between 150 and 300 euros.
Langle did not name the cities, in which the company plans to open stores.
It should be reminded that currently, in Ukraine, two stores Metro Baza operate in Lutsk and Ternopil.
Metro Group is one of the world’s largest holdings of wholesale and retail companies, headquartered in Dusseldorf, Germany.
Metro Cash&Carry Ukraine entered the Ukrainian market in 2003. Currently, the company has 23 wholesale trade centers. The sales volume of Metro Cash&Carry Ukraine for 2016/2017 FY was €491 mln.
