The experts of the International Monetary Fund arrived to Kyiv for consultations on the state budget 2019, the adoption of which is the condition for providing a new funding to Ukraine as per new “stand-by ”program, IMF Resident Representative in Ukraine Goesta Ljungman informed, HB reports quoting Interfax-Ukraine.
“Referring to authorities, the team, consisting of several IMF experts, will visit Kyiv between 4 and 9 November for conducting consultations on the budget bill 2019 within the framework of recent agreement at the level of the mission’s fund”, according to the release of IMF representative.
It should be reminded that IMF and Ukraine routinely reached agreement on a new 14-month program of economic policy support “stand-by”, which will replace the Extended Financing Facility (EFF) program. The program of international assistance “stand-by” is given to those countries, which are out of the pre-default condition.
However, the IMF Executive Board is ready to approve a new program of supporting Ukraine’s economic policy only after the final revision of heating tariffs as per the gas price increase.
