Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman anticipates receiving a new IMF tranche immediately after approval of the state budget by the Verkhovna Rada, Reuters reports.
Groisman noted that he anticipates the tranche in December, however, he did not specify its amount.
IMF assistance will make it possible for Ukraine to obtain loans from World Bank and EU. The Prime Minister also noted that Ukraine is negotiating with U.S. about a new credit guarantee for sovereign debt.
“This budget is the budget of stability and the extension of reforms. It fully complies with our IMF program”, Groisman noted.
According to the Prime Minister, the change in taxation – the withdrawn capital tax – was excluded from the draft budget due to IMF concerns.
It should be reminded that the parliament approved the draft law on the budget in September.
Previously, IMF suggested that Ukraine should obtain tranche under a new program by the end of the year.
