Spam cases when e-mails spread using the domain name registered by the Ministry of Revenue and Duties - minrd.gov.ua., have recently increased. Spams that are being sent to the addresses of enterprises are infected with malicious software.

The e-mails sent from a fake address, which contain due bills and complaints about impossibility to acknowledge the receipt, have an attached file with Doc extension (actually, Rtf format), the opening of which, a user believes, won’t cause any harm.  

In fact, this document contains exploits for MS Office Word software; after being activated their malicious viruses strike vulnerables of the user’s PC software and redirect it to the botnet. This virus attack can have other negative aftermaths being detected now.

Upon the Ministry’s claim the criminal proceedings have been commenced already.

The Ministry of Revenue and Duties asks all taxpayers to be careful and not to open spam e-mails. One of the addresses harmful spams are sent is This email address is being protected from spambots. If you receive such e-mails, please inform the State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine through e-mail to address This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . Moreover, please attach samples of malicious software and source codes of e-mails as compressed archive files with password “infected”, if possible.
