Draft bill №2922
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has passed the resolution On Moratorium on Closing of General Education Secondary Schools government-funded and those of community ownership», says the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The Verkhovna Rada resolved to consider closing of general education secondary schools to be unallowable if it happens due to shortage of money for maintaining and renewing, and to impose the moratorium on closing of schools which legal forms of ownership are mentioned above before adopting the Law On Government Budget for 2015.
Pursuant to this resolution, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is empowered:
to delegate the local executive councils and local self-government bodies with the task of scrutinizing and analysing the state of affairs in managing general education secondary schools funded by the government and those of community ownership, located in the cities and rural areas, in view of forecasted demographic changes, and undertake all necessary measures to suspend their unsubstantiated liquidation;
to take immediate measures in order to boost funding of general education secondary schools being government-owned and those of community ownership;
to study and analyse the progress on implementing the government project titled School Bus, and increase schools funding from the government budget in 2015.
