Draft bill №571-р dd. June 11, 2014
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine set limits on immigration in 2014 totalling 6,376 people, the statement of the government №571-р dd. June 11, 2014, RBK-Ukraine РБК-Украина reports.
Thus, according to article 5 of Law of Ukraine On Immigration, in 2014 a number of immigrants to Ukraine can make up: 600 scientists and cultural workers, as far as their immigration can meet the Ukraine’s interests; one highly skilled specialists or workers urgently needed for the economy of Ukraine; 2, 212 people who are full brothers or sisters, grandfathers or grandmothers, grandsons or granddaughters of citizens of Ukraine; 282 people who were citizens of Ukraine before; 3, 281 people who are parents, husbands/wives of immigrants and underage children of the latter.
Moreover, the Ukrainian government has not specified immigration quotes in 2014 for those who invested into the economy of Ukraine in convertible foreign currencies amounting to at least $100 thousand; and for persons who permanently resided in the territory of Ukraine for 3 years since the date of being given the status of persons who suffered from human trafficking.
In terms of regions, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine set the following immigration quotes for 2014: for Kharkiv oblast - 780 persons, for Kyiv oblast - 760 persons, for Odesa oblast - 410 persons, for Luhansk oblast - 335 persons, for Kyiv oblast - 250 persons, for Zaporizhie oblast - 225 persons, for remaining oblasts – less than 200 persons.
