B.Lozhkin’s letter to Head of NBU
Head of the Ukraine’s Presidential Administration Boris Lozhkin has submitted the proposal to NBU’s Head Valeria Gontariova advising to create a task force that might handle the challenges the depositors of problem banks are encountering now, the press-service of the Ukraine’s President reports.
Head of the Presidential Administration suggests that the task force should be comprised of chief executives of the banking regulator, Deposit Guarantee Fund, and representatives of initiative groups of depositors trying to deal with problem banks.
In particular, the task force can work out solutions to solve the problems the depositors of PJSC FORUM bank are facing now.
The FORUM depositors have appealed to the President asking him to intervene and help tackle the bank liquidation situation.
On July 24, 2014 First Deputy Head of the Ukraine’s Presidential Administration Gennady Zubko held a meeting with representatives of the initiative group of the Forum bank creditors, who picketed the Ukraine’s Presidential Administration building.
The FORUM depositors are proposing to suspend liquidation of the bank and seek more efficient and less costly ways of taking it out of the market, for example, through transferring its assets and liabilities to another bank.
