On August 14, 2014, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed the law On Changes to Some Enactments of Ukraine on animal identification and registration.
233 parliamentarians voted «Yes». This document details some definitions («husbandry», «identification number»), and enters new definitions («owner», «keeper», «Administrator of the Uniform Animal Registry»); defines the rights and duties of legal and natural persons and Administrator of the Animal Uniform Registry; specifies the move order for animals, ways to finance the procedure for identification and registration of animals, etc.
It sets out, with purpose of facilitating the identification and registration of animals kept or raised in husbandry, the government gives financial aid; thus, this service is free of charge for natural persons.
The draft law has been registered under №4987-1.
As it has been reported before, this law opens market opportunities for domestic manufacturers in Europe and more than 100 countries that accept the EU agricultural quality certificates.
