Import of 34.5 thousand cars
For January-June of 2014 Ukraine imported 34.532 thousand motor cars that is almost 2.7 times less as compared to a similar period a year ago. This is the lowest figure for the past five years, RBK-Ukraine (РБК-Україна) reports citing Ukravtoprom.
The customs value of these imports amounted to $694.8 million that is 2.2 times less than the figure for the six months of 2013.
Among the supplier countries, Japan was ranked the first in the first half of the year, whence 5. 793 thousand motor cars worth $153.4 million were imported to Ukraine.
Germany was the country ranked the second having exported 3.370 thousand motor cars that cost $114.7 million.
The third leader was the Russian Federation – in the first half of the year Ukraine imported 2.749 thousand motor cars which total value was $28 million.
The most popular motor cars imported during the accounting period were cars with diesel engines with fuel volume of 1.5 up to 2.5 litres that made up around one fifth of the total car imports.
