ХІІ Congress of Judges of Ukraine is currently underway
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has called the delegates of the extraordinary ХІІ Congress of Judges of Ukraine for hastening the SCJU (the Supreme Council of Justice of Ukraine) and HQCU (the High Qualification Commission of Judges) election process, said P.Poroshenko addressing the Congress, RBK-Ukraine (РБК-Україна) reports.
“The task to lustrate the courts should be accomplished, including the two extremely important elective bodies – the Ukraine’s Supreme Council of Justice and the High Qualification Commission of Judges. I’d like to ask you to trigger the process contributing to the formation of these responsible executive institutions with high responsibility, deserving respect. I’m convinced that you won’t make erroneous choices”, - said Poroshenko.
In his opinion, judicial lustration is one of the most efficient stages of the reformation in Ukraine.
Given the said above, it is expected that the next day, September 25-26, the judicial council will approve the nominees to the Supreme Council of Justice of Ukraine and elect the members to the High Qualification Commission of Judges in line with legal quotas.
