In Ukraine, new passenger cars sold and registered in February 2015 numbered 2924 vehicles, or 5 times down as compared to a year ago, according to the data made available by Ukravtoprom association.
Besides a significant drop in sales, the market has undergone essential structural changes.
Renault was the most bought car brand – 241 vehicles purchased in February. But, despite its leading role, its sales fell 4 times over the last year.
The second best-selling car was Nissan, Japanese car maker, which sales stood at 228 new vehicles. In February last year Nissan was among the leaders rounded out the top three car brands, but volume of sales exceeded more than fourfold the figures for February this year.
Mazda took the third position compared to the 16th last year, with 217 vehicles sold. Despite of considerable upgrade in the rating, Mazda’s losses this year amounted to 26 percent compared to the last year.
The fourth position is maintained by Hyundai with sale of 213 news cars (77% less as compared to a similar period last year).
Volkswagen rounded out the top 5 car makers, having sold 172 new passenger cars (79% less as compared to a year ago).
Although the passenger car market has increased by 32% compared to January, it reduced 4.9 times as compared to January-February in the previous year.
