Olexander Y. Fatsevich, born in 1986, rank – Major of the Army.
In the past - a military officer. He graduated from the Odessa Institute of Military Land Forces; served in landings, in the Ukraine’s Armed Forces, for more than nine years.
After the military contract expired, he taught at the Volyn high school with intense physical training and military disciplines. He taught self-defence to Volyn recruits.
Married, has a 5-year-old daughter.
He headed Svitiaz, the special patrol group of the MIA of Ukraine in the Volyn oblast, created on June 14, 2014. In August 2014, Svitiaz special military unit was dispatched to the ATO’s area. Svitiaz squad faced its first test, “the baptism of fire”, in the battles near Ilovaisk.
“In December 2014, Svitiaz fighters under the command of Olexander Fatsevich were sent to the outskirts near Uglegorsk. On January 30, 2015, in an attack against separatists in Debaltseve, special military unit fighters were encircled. Three days Svitiaz hold the line defending, then fighting broke out the trap, got out other UAF soldiers – without any losses, carrying the wounded, their weapons", wrote Avakov.
Major of Police Olexander Fatsevich was awarded, upon the decreed signed by the President of Ukraine, the Order of Bravery III grade for courage demonstrated during the antiterrorist operation in January 2015, when holding the line near Uglegorsk.
