In Ukraine (excluding the temporary occupied territory of the autonomous Republic of Crimea, Sevastopol city and some ATO areas), inflation slowed in June 2015, having slipped to 0.4% compared to 2.2% a month ago, the press-office of the National Statistics Service reports.
Meanwhile, the prices raised by 40.7% and 57.5%, compared to December and June 2014, respectively.
According to the NSS, the consumer price index for food and non-alcoholic beverages was 100.0%. However, prices of red beets, potatoes, carrots leapt drastically (2.3-1.6 times) in June. The prices of onions, eggs, fermented milk products, soft drinks, meat and meat products increased by 5.5-1.2%.
But prices of cucumbers, tomatoes, cabbage dropped significantly (by 57.3-45.5%). There was a 4.7-0.9% decrease in price of rice, processed cereals, fruit, sugar, fish and fish products, milk.
Prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products rose by 2.5%, including tobacco products - by 2.8%, alcoholic drinks - 1.7%
A 1.2% rise in tariffs for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels occurred along with higher sewerage service charges (7.9%), costs of water supply (by 7.8%), water heating (by 7.5%).
In the healthcare sector, prices fell by 0.1% after a 0.7% drop in prices of pharmaceuticals.
A 1.1% rise in transportation costs, on the whole, was due to higher rail and road transportation fares that jumped by 5.8% and 2.4% respectively, with an increase in carfares by 2.0%.
Costs of higher education raised by 1.5% primarily after an increase in charges for pre-school children day-care (4.1%).
