The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine proposes Verkhovna Rada to set an administrative fine for the violation of national flag rules. The relevant draft law №3334 was registered in the Rada on 16th October, RBC-Ukraine (РБК-Украина) reports.
The document stipulates that the national flag consists of two equal parts: upper – blue, lower – yellow. It is suggested that if it is planted or raised simultaneously with flags of foreign states, it should be placed on the left or in the middle. If the Ukrainian flag is placed on the left from flags of foreign countries, then next flags are placed in alphabetic order, according to Ukrainian names of states, starting from Ukrainian flag.
In addition, it is prohibited to use the images of Ukrainian flag or its imitation in advertisements.
The law also stipulates an oath of allegiance to Ukraine and Ukrainian flag, which the students of general educational institutions take during their academic year, and the President and officials – on the Flag Day.
If the national flag rules are violated, it is proposed to impose an administrative fine from thirty to fifty exemptions (one such exemption – UAH 17).
