The decision on suspension has been published in “Uryadovyi Kurier”, RBC-Ukraine reports.
On January 13, 2016, the Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade took the decision to suspend till May 1 the decision on imposition of special duty amounting to 39.2% of the customs value of goods on import of certain goods of Belarusian origin.
Thus, the relevant message was published in newspaper “Uryadovyi Kurier” on Friday. The decision of the Commission comes into force since the day of its publishing.
“The Commission has considered the submitted by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine materials on results of conducted consultations with competent authorities of the Republic of Belarus, the purpose of which was to settle a disputable situation and the position of entities, engaged in foreign economic activities of confectionery and brewing industries, which were the initiators of conducting the investigation,” as it is emphasized by the commission.
It should be reminded that in November 2015 Ukraine imposed the special duty amounting to 39.2% on the import of certain goods from Belarus. Thus, the commission took the decision on taking measures in response to unfriendly actions from Belarus regarding legal rights and interests of entities, engaged in foreign economic activities of Ukraine – confectionery and brewing companies, as per which the special duty amounting to 39.9% from the customs value of goods is imposed towards the import of certain goods of the origin from the Republic of Belarus.
