It also refers to Georgia, which also expects the cancellation of visas with the EU, RBC-Ukraine reports.
In the 1st quarter of 2016 the European Commission will propose to the Council of the European Union to cancel visas for Ukrainians, the Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn, whose relevant statement is published on the European Commission site, said before the beginning of the EU Council session in Brussels.
“Concerning Ukraine, there are some obligations left, undertaken by the President and Prime-Minister, which should be fulfilled. But we expect that we will see soon the report and assessment, and in the 1st quarter we will make a proposal on visa liberalization”, - said Hahn, adding that this also refers to Georgia, which also expects the cancellation of visa regime.
It should be reminded that the President of Latvia Dalia Grybauskaitė stated that Ukraine can obtain a visa-free regime with the EU by the end of the year.
