The National Bank is upbeat, expecting the further economic growth.
The National Bank preserved its forecast regarding the Ukraine’s GDP growth in 2016 at 1%, Correspondent reports.
“The National Bank expects for further recovery of economic growth in 2016, which any way will be modest enough – about 1%”, the message says.
According to NBU estimates, the further networking of economic links between regions amid the macrofinancial stabilization and de-escalation of the military conflict in the east as well as the low comparative base.
The central bank explains the moderate growth rates with difficult external conditions (slow growth of global economy, low prices on raw material markets, new trade and transit restrictions from RF) as well as strengthening the internal political instability.
It is noted that the main factor, restraining the GDP decline in 2015, was the net export, the contribution of which remained positive from the second quarter of 2015.
NBU states that in the second half of the year the recovery of investments started, however later than it was expected.
It should be reminded that the National Bank worsened the forecast of GDP growth for 2016 to 1.1% from 2.4%. For the previous year the Ukrainian economy dropped by 10%.
