The members of the Supervisory Committee of Euro Contrôle Route unanimously approved the decision on accepting the proposal of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine to work with “Euro Contrôle Route” on a regular basis, said Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Yurii Lavreniuk, who is the head of the special delegation in Vilnius.

“The possibility of getting valuable experience of such organization as EuroContrôleRoute in terms of raising safety level on automobile transport, compliance with European rules and standards, imposition of sanctions as well as harmonization of the European legislation has high importance for developing Ukrtransbezpeka. The results of EuroContrôleRoute operation in the sphere of training of inspector’s composition with the purpose of improvement of their professional skills and expertise should also be noted. The participation of Ukraine in ECR operation will provide our state with huge opportunities to comprehensively harmonize national legislation in the sphere of automobile transport, and, as a result, to raise safety level on roads. In the long term it will also approximate our country on the way to liberalization of automobile transportation with EU countries, in its turn it will allow simplifying and creating adequate conditions for our country as well as for EU countries, in terms of international passenger and cargo transportation”, Yurii Lavreniuk said.

From now on, the representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Ukrtransbezpeka will participate in activities of Euro Contrôle Route, however without the right to vote.

Euro Contrôle Route (ECR) is the union of transport inspections of EU countries, which jointly work on raising safety level of road traffic, creation of conditions for fair competition and working conditions on automobile transport on types of activities, related to the observance of existing rules.
