The World Bank policy in regard to our country will not change after the change of country director, but the bank develops a new strategy for supporting Ukraine due to expiration of current strategy, Qimiao Fan, World Bank Country Director for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova, who leaves his post due to scheduled rotation, said during his interview to UNIAN, Economic Truth reports.
Answering the question regarding the change of bank policy regarding Ukraine after his abandonment of the post, Qimiao Fan said: “Absolutely not. It is important for international institutions – the director changes, the policy - not”.
“The World Bank Group has strategy for supporting Ukraine, and the current strategy will expire soon. We are preparing a new strategy”, he added.
According to Qimiao Fan, a new strategy is based on the analysis of key moments and obstacles for stable economic growth as well as on priority measures of Ukrainian government and interest in implementation of reforms.
“One of the aspects is the acquired work experience on previous strategy. But I would like to assure you that the strategy and policy of the World Bank regarding Ukraine will not change after the change of director”, - he noted.
