The Malaysian oil and gas state company Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) can participate in extraction of shale gas on the territory of Ukraine.
“The Malaysian party confirmed the readiness to study the possibility of involvement of Petronas in extraction of hydrocarbons, including shale gas on the territory of Ukraine”, the Ukrainian diplomat said.
The ambassador also noted that during the visit of Petro Poroshenko in Putrajaya the Malaysian party approved the intention to forward the expert group of Malaysia Airport Berhad for studying possibilities of its involvement in the management of Boryspil International Airport.
In addition, Nechytailo informed that during the visit of Poroshenko the possibility of involvement of Malaysian companies in construction of high ways and affordable housing in Ukraine was investigated.
According to the ambassador, the parties agreed to conduct the constitutive meeting of the joint Ukrainian-Malaysian Trade Committee by the end of 2016.
As it was reported, on August 3-5, 2016, President Petro Poroshenko was on an official visit in Malaysia.
Some bilateral agreements, in particular, intergovernmental agreement on prevention of income tax evasions, intergovernmental agreement on mutual legal assistance in criminal proceedings or agreement on the extradition of the criminal, were signed,.
Petronas (abbreviated from Petroliam Nasional Berhad) is the Malaysian oil and gas company, founded on August 17, 1974. It fully belongs to Malaysian government. The corporation is endowed with authorities for extraction of all oil and gas in this country.
