Currently Victor Shvets is away on vacation.
The High Judicial Qualifications Commission of Ukraine satisfied the petition of the General Prosecutor on dismissal from office of Victor Shvets, the judge of the High Economic Court of Ukraine, due to criminal prosecution.
“The petition of the General Prosecutor to be satisfied, to dismiss Judge Shvets from the occupied post due to initiated criminal proceeding against him. The case hearing is completed”, HJQCU Head Serhei Kaziakov stated.
The General Prosecutor of Ukraine states in the petition that the incumbent judge can influence pretrial investigation.
“The judge can avoid appearing in court and avoid investigation”, HJQCU Head said.
It should be noted that the suspicion on committing crimes was served to Shvets on July 27, the period of pretrial investigation was extended and is effective as of today.
“Not the pretrial investigation institution, but I should prove that I am not a camel. Melnyk writes that I wanted to get a benefit. How I can influence them, I don’t even know where they live…They are charging me that I am allegedly give false statements regarding car theft”, Shvets complained.
In addition, the representative of the General Prosecutor stated that Judge Shvets already put pressure on witnesses in criminal proceedings.
It should be noted that Shvets is suspected of fraud and perjury. Currently Shvets is away on vacation.
