Ukrposhta will exchange international wire transfers with 28 countries
USEP Ukrposhta and Swiss PostFinance start exchange of international wire transfers, Ukrposhta’s press service announced. Ukrainian state enterprise of posts "Ukrposhta" is actively expanding its presence within Eurogiro international electronic money transfer system, which includes over 60 banking and postal organizations in 49 countries. Ukrainian citizens can now send and receive money transfers from yet another country, Switzerland. “At the moment Switzerland is one of the strongest economies in the world, and the fact that it’s using Eurogiro shows reliability and security of this type of transfer", said Hennadii Vovk, Deputy Director General of USEP "Ukrposhta".
Eurogiro transfers can be sent only to physical persons; money cannot be credited to a current bank account. Transfer amount should not exceed €1200 or the equivalent in national currency.
International wire transfers travel for up to two working days, depending on the working regime of the postal service. Citizens may send and receive international wire transfers in in hryvnias at any post office.
Certain designated objects of postal service it is possible to send and receive transfers in euro, if a transfer amount has no eurocents. The list of designated post-offices is available on Ukrposhta’s official website.
