The Cabinet of Ministers initiates the creation of the Financial Investigations Service, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman said during the government session on March 22, EP reports.
“The Minister of Finance, which developed this draft law jointly with the team of the ministry and other ministries, presents it to us”, he reported at the beginning of the session.
“I consider that it will be absolutely right if today we will consider this draft law regarding the Financial Investigations Service – we will submit it to the Board of Reforms in order to study it further, - after that, we will submit it to the parliament for its final approval”, the Prime Minister added.
“It refers to the final liquidation of the Tax Police, the liquidation of the economic service of the National Police – the so-called former DAMSP service (Department Against Misappropriation of Socialist Property), which was since the Soviet times, and the liquidation of the respective economic division in the State Security Service of Ukraine”, he explained.
According to Groisman, it refers to the creation of the “unified Financial Investigations Service, which will be highly intellectual and qualitative in terms of non-admission of economic crimes against the state”.
“This is a very good step forward in the creation of the normal business climate. I regularly insist that only the development of national economy will help to relieve the country from the crisis, in which we have been for decades”, the Prime Minister said.
