NBU Governor Valeria Gontareva filed for resignation, Deputy Chairperson of BPP Faction Irina Lutsenko said to journalists, EP reports.
“I think that she fulfilled the scope of work she assumed, that is why she filed for resignation”, Lutsenko said.
In the meantime, NBU press office refuted this information.
“The press office refutes this information about the resignation of NBU Governor Valeria Gontareva. As you know, NBU traditionally communicates the changes in the composition of the Management Board. Currently, all the members work according on schedule and have a busy calendar”, EP reports.
Recently, Gontareva said that she completely fulfilled her tasks, and does not think about new posts, because she wants to rest. That is why, according to her, when it is time to leave the post, she will take rest to have quality time with her family.
Speaking about the successor, Gontareva expressed confidence that it will be “really deserving nominee... – professional, banker, technocrat, not a politician”.
She added that she already proposed several candidates to the President, but did not say whom namely she proposed.
