The European structure had to break the officially established rules of the publication of legislative acts in order to fulfill promises on the date of the start of visa-free regime, the correspondent of European Truth reports.
As reported, on Monday, the Official Journal of the European Union published the decision on visa cancellation for Ukrainian citizens and thus determined the date for the start of visa-free trips.
The preparation of this publication faced problems.
The matter is that the Official Journal of the European Union (OJC) is the electronic edition, which publishes all legislative and regulatory acts prior to their coming into force, does not come out on Mondays. The OJSC operating rules stipulate that it published the regulatory acts “from Tuesday to Saturday”.
However, in case of postponement of publication for at least one day, the Ukrainian visa-free regime could not come into force on June 11, - but namely this date was announced to Ukrainian partners. That is why the exception was made for Ukrainian decision, in order to fulfill political promises.
The Ukrainian decision is the only decision, contained in the OJS’s special issue.
Thus, on June 11, the citizens, having biometric passports, will obtain the right for a visa-free regime to EU countries and Schengen Area Member States beyond the European Union.
