Figure grows 0.69% in July
In July 2013 arrears on loans from Ukrainian banks rose by 0.69% or 522 million UAH- to 76.566 billion UAH, as per the statement by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), LIHA BusinessInform reports.
According to the regulator, in January through July as compared with the year start, the growth of arrears was 5.58%. The share of outstanding debt within total loans granted by banks in July decreased by 0.06 percentage points - down to 9.07%. From January to July the growth rate was 0.17 p. p.)
In July, banks increased issued loans by 1.35%, or 11.241 billion UAH - to 844.158 billion UAH. Year to date, the increase was 3.54%, or 28.831 billion UAH. The increase in loans granted by banks in July was mainly due to increased lending to businesses by 0.40%, or 2.511 billion UAH - to 630.756 billion UAH, the volume of lending to individuals grew by 0.46% or 752 million UAH - to 164.110 billion UAH. During the month banks increased their long-term loans by 0.57%, or 2.248 billion UAH - to 394.925 billion UAH.
The reserves for active operations in July fell by 0.05%, or 66 million UAH - to 138.932 billion UAH.
In July, banks increased their investment in securities by 2.52%, or 3.416 billion UAH - to 138.775 billion UAH.
Banks’ liabilities in July grew by 1%, or 10 billion UAH - to 1.029 trillion UAH, including legal entities of funds grew by 4.30%, or 8.943 billion UAH, to 216.831 billion UAH (including term funds of 90.793 bln UAH), individuals’ funds grew by 0.94%, or 3.839 billion UAH, to 411.832 billion UAH (including term funds - 325.251 billion UAH).
