The shareholders of Kyivenergo PJSC decided to reorganize the business by dividing the company as per types of activities, ET reports quoting Interfax-Ukraine.
It is noted that the relevant decision was taken at the shareholder’s meeting on November 13.
As per results of Kyivenergo’s reorganization, two new companies will be created: one will distribute electrical energy and operate electrical networks, the other will supply electrical energy.
Such division is required according to the requirements of Law of Ukraine on Electricity Market.
According to Kyivenergo’s press-office, the creation of new companies will not influence the scope of rights and obligations under communal property management agreements, concluded between Kyiv City Council and Kyivenergo. The ownership right of Kyiv community to TPP-5, TPP-6, Energy Plant, heating networks and other facilities, remains inviolable.
Reportedly, Kyivenergo operates virtually all energy facilities, located in the capital, except for Darnitsa Thermal Power Plant.
