Meeting with President of Commission for International Notary Cooperation of International Notary Union
Ukraine is 86th to join the International Union of Notaries. This is made possible thanks to adoption of new legislation on notariate, as previous laws (for example, the Law on Notaries, enacted back in 1993) did not meet modern demands. On the eve of Ukraine's accession to this international structure we established that your country meets all necessary criteria, Michel Merlotti, President of the Commission for International Cooperation of the International Notary Union said during a meeting at the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Justice.
During the meeting the parties discussed details of cooperation, development and access to the profession of a notary.
Ministry holds an open policy in this area as evidenced by examinations to carry out notarial activities conducted October 29 - stressed Liliia Chyhvintseva, Director of Department for notariate and bankruptcy of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
During the meeting parties expressed their assurance of continued cooperation, stressing on the fact that everyday notarial practices can and should be improved with notary community’s active involvement in this process.
