Despite the rich deposits, within several decades, Ukraine only decreased the gas production.
In 3-4 years, Ukraine will be able to provide itself with the gas of its own production, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groisman said in the interview with one of TV channels, the press office of the Cabinet of Ministers reports.
According to Groisman, the economic growth target, amounting to 4-5% GDP, will allow attracting the resource of development, which will become the base, including the increase of own gas production and full provision of all consumers with Ukrainian fuel, RBC-Ukraine reports.
“I want that Ukraine becomes the state, which provides itself with its own gas. This idea will allow decreasing the gas price. It can be done fundamentally in 2020. That is why the growth at 5% level is important for us”, Groisman said.
It should be reminded that previously, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Igor Nasalyk claimed that the Ministry of Energy does not initiate the gas price increase for population. Previously, it became known that Ukrgasvydobuvannya in 2018 plans to produce almost 16 bln cubic meters of gas.
