The National Bank permits foreign investors to repatriate dividends for 2017 and all previous years, NBU’s press office reports.
“Taking into account the favorable situation on the currency market, the National Bank continues the gradual easing of administrative restrictions, the weakening of which will foster improvement of the business and investment climate of Ukraine and will not lead to the price and financial instability”, the message says.
The regulator expanded opportunities for foreign investors to repatriate dividends for corporate rights and shares, accrued for 2017.
“Until now, the investors had to pay abroad the dividends in foreign currency, accrued only for the period until 2016 inclusive. Meanwhile, the amounts of these payments were limited by the set rates (for dividends for 2014-2016 – up to 5 mln dollars per month, for dividends for the period until 2013 inclusive – not less than 2 mln dollars per month)”, NBU noted.
For now, the Ukrainian companies will be able to pay foreign investors the dividends in the foreign currency, amounting to 7 mln dollars per month irrespective of the period, for which these dividends are accrued.
