The Ministry of Justice will implement the system of debtors’ accounts seizure in order to develop the automated process of collection and enforced recovery of debts, the press office of the Ministry of Justice reports.
“The implementation of the electronic seizure of funds, available at the debtor’s account in banks and other financial institutions, is one of priority steps of the reform of enforcement of decisions of other authorities, because Ukraine undertook a commitment to IMF on adoption of the law, which will automate the process of selection and enforced debt recovery”, according to the message.
Currently, the executor obtains information about debtor’s accounts by sending the request to the State Fiscal Service.
However, these data are related to only legal entities and individual entrepreneurs. One may obtain information about the accounts of citizens by sending requests to all banking institutions of the country via mail.
The service notes that in practice, the debtors manage to withdraw funds from accounts, and sometimes the statement is lost and is not received by the bank.
