The National Bank of Ukraine expects to reach 5% level of inflation in 2020, Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Yakov Smolii said while delivering his speech at the annual research conference of central banks of Ukraine and Poland, UNN reports.
“If we ended 2015 with the inflation, which was more than 40%, then now it is at 13% level. This year, it will decrease to one-figure level, in the middle of the next year – it will enter the target range, and in 2020 – it will reach 5%”, he said.
It should be reminded that according to NBU forecasts, in late May, the inflation will be more than 12%.
Meanwhile, the Central Bank expects for a gradual slowdown of the general inflation, which will be 8.9%.
