The Committee for Social Policy and Labor submits its proposal to the Verkhovna Rada
The Ukraine’s Committee for Social Policy and Labour recommends the Verkhovna Rada healthcare policy advancements - to take a draft law on entering amendments to article 51 of the Ukraine’s Labour Code as a basis, which sets forth pregnant women health advocacy, the press-office of the Verkhovna Rada reports.
Draft law (№4105) proposes to obligatory reduce the hours the pregnant women are at work a day by one hour, without any exception, with the start date being the day of their first visit to a doctor, when pregnancy is certified, with keeping the average salary unchanged.
The appropriate alterations are expected to amend article 51 of the Labour Code of Ukraine.
The members of the Committee have supported the draft law the endorsement of which will facilitate improvement of the legislative framework specifying health care issues for working women and enhance labour warranties and coverage.
