The Board of the National Bank of Ukraine approved the new structure of the Banking Inspection Department, the Head of Banking Inspection Department Tatiana Lebedynets said, the NBU press-service reports.
“Its name even changed. Now it is called the Bank Inspection Check Department. Currently the inspection approach significantly changes, it’s switching to the risk-based approach (the approach, based on the risk assessment). Instead of similar by functions departments called “Department 1”, “Department 2”, “Department 3”, we have three divisions dealing with operational, financial and information risks, ” Tatiana noted and added that such division will allow the specialists of the Department to specialize in particular area, and this, in its turn, will affect the quality and the extent of inspection checks.
In addition, according to Tatiana Lebedinets, the Department plans to conduct re-attestation of all employees. “We do not have the purpose of conducting downsizing. But only professional, experienced, with immunity to corruption, people should work in the department. Such requirements will be applied to both new and old employees”, Lebedynets emphasized.
