The inflation rate in Russia from 20 to 26 January, 2015, stood at 0.6%, while at the year beginning it was 2.1%, according to the data from the Federal Statistics Service of the RF, RBK-Ukraine (РБК-Україна) reports.
The inflation rate in 2014 was 0.5%, while in January – 0.6%. Petrol and diesel prices fell by 0.1%. Rice and frozen fish became more expensive the last week with their prices going up by 2.5% and 2.4%, respectively, while sunflower oil, white sugar, margarine and tea - by 2.0-2.1%.
Rise in prices for vegetables and fruit reached 3.8%, on average, including tomatoes – 9.8%, onion, carrot and cabbage – 5.3-6.2%. Upon results for 2014, the inflation rate in Russia was 11.4%. December 2014 was the month that the products cost more – a hike of 3.3%, with an average increase of 2.6%.
In 2014 food prices in Russia grew by 16.7%, falling by 1% on average in the EU countries.
