During last years he was the director of the Polish-Ukrainian Cooperation Foundation PAUCI, RBC-Ukraine reports.
On Thursday, May 19, the Commission of the Polish Seim on Foreign Affairs appointed Yan Peklo for the post of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Poland in Ukraine, Gazeta Wyborcza reports.
“The acting ambassador in Ukraine was Henrik Litvin, diplomat from 1991, the former deputy director of the Europe-East Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, responsible for Polish relationships with Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova… His mission, as it is expected, will come to its end in the second half of this year. He will be replaced by the journalist, publicist and former director of the Polish-Ukrainian Cooperation Foundation Yan Peklo”, the edition reports.
During several last years Yan Peklo was the director of the Polish-Ukrainian Cooperation Foundation PAUCI.
In general, in summer 2016 Poland plans to change the third of its diplomatic corps – about 30 ambassadors. It refers, in particular, to the Polish Embassies in Germany, USA, Great Britain, France, Italy, Portugal, Holland and Norway.
