The European Union has delayed the issue of visa cancellation for Ukraine until autumn, Correspondent.net reports.
In autumn EU countries will possibly discuss the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with Ukraine as well as easing visa restrictions with EU, European Commissioner for Trade Cecilia Malmström told RIA News.
“The Ukrainian President has called for liberalization of visa regime, which we supported within the commission. Now it is in Member-States’ hands to make inventory and understand, at what stage we are now”, she said.
“The official summit will take place a bit later, probably, in autumn”, Malmström added.
The other day President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stated that he expects for the completion of all formal procedures in the committees of the European Parliament for voting for granting Kyiv a visa-free regime with EU as soon as possible.
