The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Parliament of Canada should complete ratification of free trade area agreement by the end of the current year, Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada Andrei Shevchenko said to journalists in Kyiv, the European Truth reports.
According to the Ambassador, the parliaments reached agreement on it.
“There is an agreement at the level of Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andrei Parubii as well as with the parliament of Canada at the level of “the group of friendship” of Ukraine-Canada”, - he told.
The diplomat noted that the process will not be completed by just parliament voting, because Kiev is interested to come to full application of the agreement.
“I think that we have all reasons to expect for the completion of ratification this year and to rapidly move to implementation, to the bylaws, so this agreement is not just left on the paper, but starts working really”, the ambassador said.
It was reported in July that Ukraine and Canada signed free trade area agreement.
