26.4 million unemployed in the EU
In May 2013 in the 27 European Union countries unemployment was recorded at 10.9%, according to Eurostat statistical office.
In May 2013, the European Union had 26.405 million unemployed, 19.222 million of them - in the euro area.
The lowest unemployment rate, at the end of the last month of spring, was observed in Austria (4.7%), Germany (5.3%) and Luxembourg. The highest rate is seen in Spain (26.9%) and Greece (26.8%).
