Now is not the best time to go see the pyramids and chill on the beaches of the Red Sea, diplomats say
Due to further escalation of the political tension in Egypt, protests and riots, declared state of emergency, the Foreign Ministry alerts Ukrainian citizens of the dangers of stay in Egypt and advises to refrain from traveling to this country without urgent necessity at this stage, the agency’s press service informs.
In particular, citizens of Ukraine, currently in Cairo, are recommended against visiting Central Square "Tahrir" and the adjacent Garden City district, the area around the Presidential Palace (Heliopolis district) mosque Rabia El Adaviya (Nasr City District), Giza area. It is necessary to minimize the movement around the capital and other towns, and refrain from car trips.
Citizens of Ukraine who is currently vacationing in the resort towns on the Red Sea (Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh) in order to avoid security threats are recommended to stay at their hotels and not to venture outside.
All citizens staying in Egypt should avoid visiting crowded places, taking illegal photos and videos, participating in protests, demonstrations and other activities aimed at destabilizing the situation in the country. It is not recommended to engage in disputes with locals on issues relating to the political situation in Egypt.
In case of an emergency, Ukrainian citizens should immediately contact the Embassy of Ukraine in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
