President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed the law, permitting the citizens of the Crimea, annexed by Russia, not to pay debts to Ukrainian banks, according to the message on Putin’s site, Ukrainian News reports.
Putin signed the Law On Introduction of Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Russian Federation and Annulment of Certain Provisions of Legislative Acts of Russian Federation.
Now, the regulation on the borrower’s denial of interaction with the person, who has grounds to claim debt repayment, will be in force.
The borrower may also apply to the Depositors’ Protection Fund, which is authorized to restructure the arrears of the borrower.
As reported, the State Duma of Russian Federation approved the law on clarification of the rules of repayment of the arrears to Ukrainian banks by the borrowers, residing in the annexed Crimea.
It is envisaged that the law will permit to zero loans up to 5 million rubles, taken out at Ukrainian banks by legal entities and individuals.
