President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed the order on sanctions against North Korea. The document dated 30 November 2016 was published on Monday, October 16, on the official online portal of the legal information, Correspondent.net reports.
Thus, the order contains the list of individuals and legal entities, associated with DPRK’s nuclear ballistic missile program, to which the restrictions will apply.
The lists of dual-use goods and other items, the import of which is banned to DPRK due to its potential use for missile nuclear programs of the country, are also widened.
According to the order, the additional bans on trade and economic, banking and financial, scientific and technical cooperation with DPRK are introduced.
In particular, it is banned to purchase coal, nickel, silver and zinc from DPRK.
Putin ordered to cancel the state registration in Russia for marine vessels, which are connected with implementation of DPRK’s nuclear program as well as to prohibit such vessels from entering Russian ports. The exception is the emergency cases.
Within 90 days from the day of adoption of the resolution, it is required to close all branches of RF banks in DPRK. The individuals and the legal entities are prohibited from financing any support of trade with DPRK through state and private channels.
The scientific and technical cooperation with involvement of persons or groups, representing DPRK, except for exchanges in medicine, is suspended; the list of specialties, on which the training of North Korean citizens on the territory of UN member countries, is forbidden, increased.
The targeted restrictions against North Korean individuals and legal entities as well as the lists of products, including “articles of luxury”, the import/export of which to/from DPRK are banned, are also expanded.
