U.S. Ford Motor Co. revokes about 1.4. mln mid-size cars in North America due to the possibility of occurrence of problems with steering column.
This problem concerns the car range Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ, which were manufactured in 2014-2018, CNBC reports. Out of them, 1.3 mln cars will be revoked in U.S., remainder – in Canada and Mexico, Finance.ua reports quoting Interfax-Ukraine.
According to Ford’s statement, the wheel can get loose over time that may result in its probable detachment from the steering column and driver’s loss of control over car. The company has information about two accidents and one injury, which allegedly happened due to this problem.
In addition, Ford will revoke other 6 ths cars due to possible defects in clutch. The car models Focus of 2013-2016 year of manufacture with manual gearboxes and certain types of engines also fall under this campaign.
