For several months, Google has been working over supporting “alt OS” mode for its laptop Pixelbook, which will allow using two operating systems at once, finance.ua reports quoting Ukrinform.
The technology resembles Boot Camp from Apple, which would allow Google to support Windows 10 on Chromebook devices and not only.
Google tries to get Microsoft equipment certified for Windows 10. It will allows laptops of the company to officially launch the alternative operating system.
It is considered that the dual-boot support will appear in Pixelbook soon, as Google engineers hint at some changes in Chrome OS for supporting the new function.
The installation of Windows 10 on Chromebook requires additional storage; that is why it is unlikely that the devices with 16 GB of storage will be able to do a dual boot of Windows 10. The devices should have not less than 40 GB of memory in order to allow Windows 10 to use 30 GB and 10 GB for Chrome OS.
