On Friday, in Edmonton, Canada, the new General Consulate of Ukraine will be opened, Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada Andrei Shevchenko said, UNN reports.
“The opening ceremony of the General Consulate of Ukraine in Edmonton, the capital of Alberta, is scheduled for today, September 7”, the ambassador said.
According to him, besides him, Minister of Foreign Matters of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin, Minister of Science of Canada Kirsty Duncan, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Lois Mitchell, Premier of Province Rachel Notley, the leaders of Ukrainian community will participate in celebrations.
The limits of the consular district will cover the whole Western Canada (provinces: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Yukon and North West Territories). The celebrations will start from raising the flag of Ukraine near the province parliament at 01:00 pm (10:00 pm Kyiv time).
