The result for the year is positive
The railway industry in Ukraine is one of the largest taxpayers in the country. In terms of reduced income from ordinary activities in 2013 Railroad of Ukraine paid 12.7 billion UAH of current taxes and duties (preliminary data), general budget and state funds, including to the state budget - 3.8 billion UAH, the press service of the Railways informs.
Despite the decrease in financial income in 2013 railroad under the terms of the Sector Agreement increased the hourly wage rates and salaries, resulting in average wages at the end of 2013 to 3973.6 UAH, which is 214.4 UAH higher than in the result of 2012.
The volume of freight traffic compared to 2012, declined by 3% and amounted to 443.6 million tons of cargo, including transit - decreased by 18.8 %. The volume of turnover - 224.4 billion ton-km, which is 5.6% less than 2012.
The Railways services transported 483.3 million passengers, which is less than last year's level, and a planned target of 0.4 %. The volume of passenger - 49 billion passenger-kilometers, which is 0.4 % less than in 2012.
Last year the railroad of Ukraine received 3.5 billion UAH less revenue from ordinary activities than planned, and 4.4 billion UAH less than in 2012. Despite this, the overall financial performance of the railways of Ukraine for 2013 is positive.
